Grace
Used - LP - 88697779831
2010 180gm vinyl reissue without insert. Jacket EX/NM-, tiny ding to bottom seam. United pressing. "Jeff Buckley was many things, but humble wasn't one of them. Grace is an audacious debut album, filled with sweeping choruses, bombastic arrangements, searching lyrics, and above all, the richly textured voice of Buckley himself, which resembled a cross between Robert Plant, Van Morrison, and his father Tim. And that's a fair starting point for his music: Grace sounds like a Led Zeppelin album written by an ambitious folkie with a fondness for lounge jazz. At his best -- the soaring title track, "Last Goodbye," and the mournful "Lover, You Should've Come Over" -- Buckley's grasp met his reach with startling results; at its worst, Grace is merely promising." AMG - Stephen Thomas Erlewine.

Live At Sin-é
Box Set - New - 88985494801
Sealed 2018 4LP Boxset Standard Edition Of The RSD Release. 34 Songs Recorded Live During Jeff Buckley's Cafe Days In The Summer Of 1993. "Jeff Buckley Resented Being Called A Folk Singer, But He Made His Name Playing Solo Sets Like This One On The New York Coffee Circuit. Sony Released This Live Ep Before His First Fully Produced Rock Album, Grace, Perhaps To Attract Attention To The Raw Power Of Buckley's Greatest Gift, His Voice. These Four Songs Certainly Accomplished That End. Buckley Hurdles Seemingly Unreachable Octaves, Suspends Notes For What Seems Like Minutes, And Belts Out His Falsetto Without A Scintilla Of Restraint. That's A Positive Inasmuch As It Allowed Him To Show Off His Considerable Talent; It's A Negative When It Sounded Like He Was Showing Off. But His Ten-minute Cover Of Van Morrison's "The Way Young Lovers Do" Is A Tour De Force Of Strumming And Scatting, And His Acoustic "Eternal Life" Has An Electricity That Is Paradoxically Lacking On The Plugged-in Album Version." AMG Review By Darryl Cater.
