Hell Bent For Leather
Used - LP - JC 35706
1979 White Label Promo. In 1979, Judas Priest Was Growing More And More Influential. And As The 1980s Progressed, It Would Become Crystal Clear That The British Headbangers — Who Influenced Everyone From Iron Maiden To Metallica To King Diamond Had Every Bit As Great An Impact As Fellow British Headbangers Black Sabbath. One Of The Priest's Strongest Albums, Hell Bent For Leather Cannot Be Described In Anything Less Than Glowing Terms. Although Gothic Themes Are Present On Such Treasures As "The Green Manalishi (With The Two-Pronged Crown)" — Originally Recorded By Fleetwood Mac — "Evil Fantasies," And "Before The Dawn," The Album Generally Isn't As Dark Or Morbid As Stained Class Or Sin After Sin. But Musically, The Band Is As Aggressive And Brutally Intense As Ever. The Two-Guitar Attack Of Glenn Tipton And K.K. Downing Is Characteristically Blistering, And Lead Singer Rob Halford Never Sounded More Inspired. For Those With Even A Casual Interest In Metal, Hell Bent For Leather Is Essential Listening.

Rocka Rolla
New Import - BOBV251LP
Sealed 2010 180gm Reissue. UK Import. "A Sketchy And Underfocused Debut, Rocka Rolla Nonetheless Begins To Delineate The Musical Territory Judas Priest Would Explore Over The Remainder Of The Decade: Frighteningly Dark In Its Effect, Tight In Its Grooves, And Capable Of Expanding To Epic Song Lengths. On The Other Hand, Rocka Rolla Is Also Murkier, Less Precise And Powerful In Its Riff Attack, And More Blues-Based; The Stylistic Debts To Black Sabbath And Deep Purple Are Obvious At This Juncture, Although They Would Become Much Less Apparent On Subsequent Releases. The Compositions Alternate Between Short Songs And Extended Suites; Some Are Decent, But Overall They Don't Establish A Real Direction And Tend To Plod Aimlessly In Many Of The Longer Pieces. Mostly A Curiosity For Hardcore Fans, Rocka Rolla Definitely Hints At Judas Priest's Potential And Originality, But Doesn't Always Suggest The Quantum Leap In Vision That Would Occur With Their Very Next Record." All Music Guide - Steve Huey.

Used - LP - KOC-LP-4581
2008 limited edition 180gm gatefold reissue. Jacket is EX/NM-, very light wear. Recorded at Olympic/Trident & Island Studios, June & July 1974 "A sketchy and underfocused debut, Rocka Rolla nonetheless begins to delineate the musical territory Judas Priest would explore over the remainder of the decade: frighteningly dark in its effect, tight in its grooves, and capable of expanding to epic song lengths. On the other hand, Rocka Rolla is also murkier, less precise and powerful in its riff attack, and more blues-based; the stylistic debts to Black Sabbath and Deep Purple are obvious at this juncture, although they would become much less apparent on subsequent releases. Sad Wings Of Destiny
New - LP - V 130C
Sealed, Latest 180gm Reissue. UK Import. The Sophomore LP From The British Heavy Metal Pioneers. Tiny Top Seam Split During Distributor Transit. "The Year 1976 Was Crucial For The Evolution Of Heavy Metal, As Landmark Albums Like Rainbow's Rising And Scorpions' Virgin Killer Began To Reshape The Genre. Perhaps None Was Quite As Important As Judas Priest's Sophomore Effort, Sad Wings Of Destiny, Which Simultaneously Took Heavy Metal To New Depths Of Darkness And New Heights Of Technical Precision. Building On The Hard Prog Of Bands Like Queen And Wishbone Ash, Plus The Twin-Guitar Innovations Of The Latter And Thin Lizzy, Sad Wings Fused These New Influences With The Gothic Doom Of Black Sabbath, The Classical Precision Of Deep Purple, And The Tight Riffery Of The More Compact Led Zeppelin Tunes. Priest's Prog Roots Are Still Readily Apparent Here, Particularly On The Spacy Ballad "Dreamer Deceiver," The Multi-Sectioned "Victim Of Changes," And The Softer Sonic Textures That Appear From Time To Time. But If Priest's Style Was Still Evolving, The Band's Trademarks Are Firmly In Place -- The Piercing, Operatic Vocals Of Rob Halford And The Tightly Controlled Power Riffing Of Guitarists K.k. Downing And Glenn Tipton.
More Than Any Other Heavy Metal Album Of Its Time, Sad Wings Of Destiny Offered The Blueprint For The Way Forward. What's Striking Is How Deeply This Blueprint Resonated Through The Years, From The Prog Ambitions Of Iron Maiden To The Thematic Echoes In A Pair Of '80s Thrash Masterpieces. The Horrors Of Sad Wings Are Largely Drawn From Real Life, Much Like Slayer's Seasons In The Abyss, And Its All-Consuming Anxiety Is Over Powerlessness, Just Like Metallica's Magnum Opus, Master Of Puppets. (Though This Latter Preoccupation Doubtlessly Had More Psychosexual Roots In Rob Halford's Case -- Witness The Peculiar Torture Fantasy Of "Island Of Domination.") Unfortunately, Sad Wings Of Destiny Didn't Have As Much Impact Upon Release As It Should Have, Mostly Owing To The Limitations Of The Small Gull Label. It Did, However, Earn Judas Priest A Shot With Columbia, Where They Would Quickly Become The Most Influential Band In Heavy Metal Not Named Black Sabbath." AMG Review By Steve Huey.

Screaming For Vengeance
Used - LP - FC 38160
1982 Original With Custom Inner Sleeve. 1B/1K Stampers And Columbia NYC stamped In Dead Wax. Appears Glossy, Unplayed. “Priest's Songwriting Here Is Perhaps The Best It's Ever Been. The Midtempo Grooves That Enlivened British Steel Are Here In Full Force On The Band's Signature Tune, "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" (Their Only American Chart Single), As Well As "Bloodstone," "Devil's Child," And Unfairly Forgotten Single "(Take These) Chains," All Uniformly Great. But There's A Nearly Equal Emphasis On Uptempo Headbanging, Thanks To The Classic "The Hellion/Electric Eye," The Terrific Album Track "Riding On The Wind," And The Stupendously High-Velocity Title Cut, Which Marks The Closest They Ever Came To Thrash Metal (At Least In The '80s). Despite A One-Album Misstep In Between, Screaming For Vengeance Managed To Capitalize On The Commercial Breakthrough Of British Steel, Becoming The First Priest Album To Be Certified Double Platinum, And Reaching The Top 20 In America And The U.K. Alike. Along With British Steel, It Ranks As One Of The Best And Most Important Mainstream Metal Albums Of The '80s.” Steve Huey, All Music Guide.

Sin After Sin
Used - LP - PC 34787
1977 White Label Promo, 1A/1B Stampers. LP Appears Glossy, Unplayed. This Copy Is From The Collection Of The Decayes Founder And Renowned Record Collector, Ronald Kane. Small "Property Of Ronald Kane" Sticker On Back Cover. Also Includes The Rare Red Promo Insert. Although Their Previous Album, "Sad Wings Of Destiny" Wasn't A Huge Seller, It Did Land Judas Priest A Major-Label Deal With Columbia, For Whom They Debuted With The Fearlessly Experimental Sin After Sin. Retaining The Progressive Elements Of Its Predecessor, Sin After Sin Upped The Levels Of Instrumental Technique And Melody While Incorporating A Greater Variety Of Influences. It's Possible To Hear Touches Of Jimi Hendrix, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, And Southern Rock, Not To Mention One Of The Most Effective Left-Field Cover Choices In Metal History On The Joan Baez Tune "Diamonds And Rust" (Which Became A Minor Hit In England). Overall, It's Extremely Close To The Same Level Of Brilliance As Most Of Their '70s Output. Every Track Is Worthwhile, Although "Sinner" And "Dissident Aggressor" (Later Covered By Slayer, A Real Testament To Its Heaviness) Are Two Particular Highlights.

Sin After Sin
Used - LP - PC 34787
1977 US Original, Pitman Pressing. Strong VG+ Copy, Lower VG+ Jacket With Tiny Tear To Opening Edge And Seam Rubs. Sin After Sin Is The Third Studio Album By British Heavy Metal Band Judas Priest, Released In April 1977. It Was The Band's First Album To Feature Drummer Simon Phillips And Their First Album To Be Released By Columbia Records After Their Contract With Gull Records Ended.
The Album Was Produced By Roger Glover, The Bassist Of Deep Purple, And Recorded At Ramport Studios In London. It Features The Hit Single "Diamonds And Rust," A Cover Of A Joan Baez Song, Which Became One Of Judas Priest's Most Popular Songs And A Live Favorite.
The Album Received Mixed Reviews Upon Its Release, With Some Critics Praising Its Heavy Metal Sound And Others Criticizing Its Lack Of Originality. However, It Has Since Become A Fan Favorite And Is Considered A Classic Of The Heavy Metal Genre.
Sin After Sin Also Marked A Turning Point In Judas Priest's Career, As They Began To Embrace A More Polished And Melodic Sound, Paving The Way For Their Later Success In The 1980s. It Is Also Notable For Featuring The First Appearance Of The Band's Iconic Logo, Designed By Artist Roslav Szaybo.
