3-D (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8)
New - LP - 0190295924942
Sealed 2017 Kling Klang Digital Master. A Single-disc Distillation Of Kraftwerk's Grammy-winning 2017 Box Set 3-d: The Catalogue, Which Contained Full Reproductions Of Their Studio Albums From Autobahn To Tour De France In The Arrangements Devised For Their 3-d Tours Since 2012. Since That Box Set Contained No Crowd Noise, Or Barely Anything Else That Suggests A Live Performance, This Disc Essentially Amounts To An Album Of Re-recorded Hits (And A Few Interludes). The Tracks Are Often Much Shorter Than They Appear On The Original Albums, As They Were Arranged To Fit The Flow Of The Concerts. Essentially, The Disc Seems Like A Handy Souvenir For Anyone Who Has Attended One Of The Group's Concerts But Isn't Interested In Springing For The Full Box Set. It Could Also Work As A Passable Sampler For Anyone New To The Group, Since A Single-disc Kraftwerk Best-of Has Surprisingly Never Remained In Print.

Autobahn
New - LP - STUMM 303
Sealed 2009 Remastered Re-Issue Of Classic Electronic Album. Includes Booklet. “Although Kraftwerk's First Three Albums Were Groundbreaking In Their Own Right, Autobahn Is Where The Group's Hypnotic Electronic Pulse Genuinely Came Into Its Own. The Main Difference Between Autobahn And Its Predecessors Is How It Develops An Insistent, Propulsive Pulse That Makes The Repeated Rhythms And Riffs Of The Shimmering Electronic Keyboards And Trance-Like Guitars All The More Hypnotizing. The 22-Minute Title Track, In A Severely Edited Form, Became An International Hit Single And Remains The Peak Of The Band's Achievements -- It Encapsulates The Band And Why They Are Important Within One Track -- But The Rest Of The Album Provides Soundscapes Equally As Intriguing. Within Autobahn, The Roots Of Electro-Funk, Ambient, And Synth Pop Are All Evident -- It's A Pioneering Album, Even If Its Electronic Trances Might Not Capture The Attention Of All Listeners.” - Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Allmusic

Computer World
Used - LP - HS 3549
1981 US Original Los Angeles Pressing With Custom Inner Sleeve. Minor Cover Wear. “The Last Great Kraftwerk Album, Computer World Captured The Band Right At The Moment When Its Pioneering Approach Fully Broke Through In Popular Music, Thanks To The Rise Of Synth Pop, Hip-Hop, And Electro. As Arthur Baker Sampled "Trans-Europe Express" For "Planet Rock" And Disciples Like Depeche Mode, OMD, And Gary Numan Scored Major Hits, Computer World Demonstrated That The Old Masters Still Had Some Last Tricks Up Their Collective Sleeves. Compared To Earlier Albums, It Fell Readily In Line With The Man-Machine, Eschewing Side-Long Efforts But With Even More Of An Emphasis On Shorter Tracks Mixed With Longer But Not Epic Compositions. While The Well-Established Tropes Of The Band Were Used Again -- Electronically Treated Vocals, Some Provided By Speak And Spell Toys; Crisp Rhythm Blips; Basslines And Beats; Haunting, Quirky Melodies -- There's A Ready Liveliness To The Songs, Like The Addictive "Pocket Calculator," With Its Perfectly Deadpan Portrait Of "The Operator" And His Favorite Tool, And The Almost Winsome "Computer Love." Cannily, The Lyrical Focus On Newly Accessible Technology Instead Of Cryptic Futurism And Vanished Pasts Matched This New Of-The-Now Stance, And The Result Was A Perfect Balance Between The New World Of The Album Title And A Withdrawn, Bemused Consideration Of That World. The Title Track Itself, With Its Lists Detailing Major Organizations Presumably All Wired Up, Echoes The Flow Of Trans-Europe Express, Serene And Pondering. "Pocket Calculator" Itself Is More Outrageously Fun, Thanks To The Technical Observation That "By Pressing Down A Special Key It Plays A Little Melody." Others Would Take The Band's Advances And Run With Them, But With Computer World Kraftwerk -- Over A Decade On From Their Start -- Demonstrated How They Had Stayed Not Merely Relevant, But Prescient, When Nearly All Their Contemporaries Had Long Since Burned Out.” Ned Raggett, AMG.

Die Mensch Maschine (Man Machine)
New - LP - 1C 058-32843
Sealed 1978 German Gatefold Original. “The Man-Machine Is Closer To The Sound And Style That Would Define Early New Wave Electro-Pop -- Less Minimalistic In Its Arrangements And More Complex And Danceable In Its Underlying Rhythms. Like Its Predecessor, Trans-Europe Express, There Is The Feel Of A Divided Concept Album, With Some Songs Devoted To Science Fiction-Esque Links Between Humans And Technology, Often With Electronically Processed Vocals ("The Robots," "Spacelab," And The Title Track); Others Take The Glamour Of Urbanization As Their Subject ("Neon Lights" And "Metropolis"). Plus, There's "The Model," A Character Sketch That Falls Under The Latter Category But Takes A More Cynical View Of The Title Character's Glamorous Lifestyle. More Pop-Oriented Than Any Of Their Previous Work, The Sound Of The Man-Machine -- In Particular Among Kraftwerk's Oeuvre -- Had A Tremendous Impact On The Cold, Robotic Synth Pop Of Artists Like Gary Numan, As Well As Britain's Later New Romantic Movement.” Steve Huey, All Music Guide.

Expo Remix
New - LP - ASW 38768
Sealed 2001 2LP Compilation With Custom Sticker On Shrink. “After Finally Releasing A New Track, Commissioned By Expo 2000 In Hanover, Germany, Kraftwerk Proceeded To Open It Up To A Whole New Set Of Remixers. Featuring Four Remixes By Detroit's Influential Underground Resistance, One From British Electronic Musicians Orbital, And One From Seminal DJ/Producer François Kevorkian, This Pair Of 12" Discs Shows What Kraftwerk Can Sound Like In The Modern World. Considering That Kraftwerk Is Often Quoted As A Major Influence On Detroit Techno, Its Unsurprising That The Remixes By The Underground Resistance Far Surpass Either Of The Other Two Mixes. Revamping The Songs In A "Kraftwerk Living In Detroit" Sort Of Way, The UR Pay Homage To One Of The Forefathers Of Their Art. Fortunately, None Of The Mixes Mimics Another, A Relatively Difficult Feat When Working With Material As Sparse As A Kraftwerk Song. All Of The Remixes Are Worthwhile Additions To The Vast Canon Of Kraftwerk Material.” – Joshua Landau, All Music Guide

Kraftwerk
Colored Vinyl - CR 0423
Sealed Red Vinyl Pressing Of The First Kraftwerk Album. Personally, My Favorite Kraftwerk Release. “What Might Have Been Simply Seen As An Agreeable Enough Debut Album Has Since Become Something Of A Notorious Legend Because Kraftwerk, Or More Accurately The Core Hütter/Schneider Duo At The Heart Of The Band, Simply Refuses To Acknowledge Its Existence Any More. What's Clearly Missing From Kraftwerk Is The Predominance Of Clipped Keyboard Melodies That Later Versions Of The Band Would Make Their Own. Instead, Kraftwerk Is An Exploratory Art Rock Album With Psych Roots First And Foremost, With Conny Plank's Brilliant Co-Production And Engineering Skills As Important As The Band Performances. Still, Hütter And Schneider Play Organ And "Electric Percussion" -- Hütter's Work On The Former Can Especially Be Appreciated With The Extended Opening Drone Moan Of The All-Over-The-Place "Stratovarius," Combined With Schneider's Eerie Violin Work. But It's A Different Kind Of Combination And Exploration, With The Key Pop Sugar (And Vocal Work) Of Later Years Absent In Favor Of Sudden Jump Cuts Of Musique Concrète Noise And Circular Jamming As Prone To Sprawl As It Is To Tight Focus. Having Never Been Given An Authorized CD Re-Release, And Long Since Out Of Print On Vinyl, Kraftwerk Only Came To Wider Notice Again In 1993 As Part Of The Bootleg Series That Also Resulted In The Appearance Of The Early Neu! Albums. The Connection Is Important, Given That Neu!'S Klaus Dinger Is One Of The Two Drummers; The Roots Of The Motorik Trance And Tripped-Out Ambient Wash Of The Later Band Can Clearly Be Heard Throughout. "Ruckzuck," With Its Repetitive Flute Mantra From Schneider And The Initial Groove Suddenly Turned Into A Stuttering, Nervous Freakout, Is Merely One Demonstration, As Is The Steady Rise-And-Fall Of Feedback And Flute At The End Of "Megaherz." As A Smart Reference, There's An Actual Picture Of A "Kraftwerk" -- A Power Station -- In The Gatefold Art.” – Ned Raggett, AMG

Kraftwerk 2
Colored Vinyl - CR 0424
Sealed Green Vinyl Pressing Of The Second Kraftwerk Album. “Like Its Predecessor (Similarly Designed Right Down To The Traffic Cone Cover, Though Green Instead Of Red), Kraftwerk 2 Has Never Been Properly Re-Released, Giving It The Same Lost-Classic Aura As The First Album, Or At Least Lost, Period. Thankfully, Bootleg Reissues In 1993 Restored It To Wider Public Listening; Even More So Than Kraftwerk 1, Its Lack Of Official Reappearance Is A Mystery, In That The Band Is Clearly Well On Its Way To The Later Kraftwerk Sound Of Fame. Stripped Down To The Hütter/Schneider Duo For This Release, And Again Working With Conrad Plank As Coproducer And Engineer (This Album Alone Demonstrates His Ability To Create Performances Combining Technological Precision And Warmth), Kraftwerk Here Start Exploring The Possibilities Of Keyboards And Electronic Percussion In Detail. Given That The Band's Drummers Were Gone, Such A Shift Was Already In The Wind, But It's The Enthusiastic Grappling With Drum Machines And Their Possibilities That Makes Kraftwerk 2 Noteworthy. The Nearly Side-Long Effort "Klingklang," Which Would Later Give The Name To The Band's Studio And Which Predicts Later Lengthy Efforts Like "Autobahn," Shows How The Duo Is Still Working Toward Its Future Styles. Steady Beats Are Sometimes Sped Up And Slowed Down; More Freeform Performances On Flute, Violin, And Keyboard Remain Present (Rather Than Honing In On A Core Melody); And Again, No Vocals Yet Grace The Recordings. On The Second Side, The More Rock-Oriented Origins Of The Group Still Cling On, Mostly Without Any Percussion Whatsoever: The Distorted Solo Guitar Start Of "Strom," The Guitar/Bass Duets Of "Spule 4" (Queasy) And "Wellenlänge" (Quite Beautiful And Very Indicative Of Many '90s Space Rock Efforts). Ultimately As With Kraftwerk 1, Kraftwerk 2 Isn't The "Classic" Sound Of The Band, But It's Astonishingly Worthy On Its Own, Well Worth Seeking Out.” – Ned Raggett, AMG

The Man • Machine
Used Import - SW-11728
1978 Original with inner sleeve. More Pop-Oriented Than Any Of Their Previous Work, The Sound Of The Man-Machine -- In Particular Among Kraftwerk's Oeuvre -- Had A Tremendous Impact On The Cold, Robotic Synth Pop Of Artists Like Gary Numan, As Well As Britain's Later New Romantic Movement.” All Music Guide - Steve Huey

The Mix
Used Import - 50999 9 6605219
2014 2LP, Digital Remastered, 180gm & Booklet. Small Top Seam Split & Corner Dings. "By The Early '90s, It Was Quite Apparent Just How Far-reaching Kraftwerk's Influence Had Been. From Techno To Hip-hop To Industrial Music To House, Numerous Others Were Undeniably Indebted To The Group. Dance Clubs Had Long Been A Key Part Of Kraftwerk's Following, And The Dance Market Was The Obvious Target Of The Mix -- A Collection Of Highly Enjoyable, Often Clever Remixes. While Novices Would Do Better To Start Out With Trans-europe Express Or The Man-machine, Hardcore Kraftwerk Followers Shouldn't Pass Up These Remixes Of Such Classics As "Trans-europe Express," "The Robots," "Autobahn," And "Radioactivity." One Could Nitpick About The Absence Of "Neon Lights" And "Europe Endless," But The Bottom Line Is That This Cd Was A Welcome Addition To The Kraftwerk Catalog." AMG Reeviw By Alex Henderson.

Trans Europa Express
Used - LP - 064 82 306
Finest Copy We Have Ever Had In Stock Of This 1977 German Original With Giant Color Poster And Custom Inner Sleeve. “Although Autobahn Was A Left-Field Masterpiece, Trans-Europe Express Is Often Cited As Perhaps The Archetypal (And Most Accessible) Kraftwerk Album. Melodic Themes Are Repeated Often And Occasionally Interwoven Over Deliberate, Chugging Beats, Sometimes With Manipulated Vocals; The Effect Is Mechanical Yet Hypnotic. Thematically, The Record Feels Like Parts Of Two Different Concept Albums: One A Meditation On The Disparities Between Reality And Image ("Hall Of Mirrors" And "Showroom Dummies" Share Recurring Images Of Glass, Reflection, Illusion, And Confused Identities, As Well As Whimsical Melodies), And The Other The Glorification Of Europe. There Is An Impressive Composition Paying Homage To "Franz Schubert," But The Real Meat Of This Approach Is Contained In The Opening Love Letter, "Europe Endless," And The Epic Title Track, Which Shares Themes And Lyrics With The Following Track, "Metal On Metal." The Song "Trans-Europe Express" Is Similar In Concept To "Autobahn," As It Mimics The Swaying Motion And Insistent Drive Of A Cross-Continent Train Trip. What Ultimately Holds The Album Together, Though, Is The Music, Which Is More Consistently Memorable Even Than That On Autobahn. Overall, Trans-Europe Express Offers The Best Blend Of Minimalism, Mechanized Rhythms, And Crafted, Catchy Melodies In The Group's Catalog; Henceforth, Their Music Would Take On More Danceable Qualities Only Hinted At Here (Although The Title Cut Provided The Basis For Afrika Bambaataa's Enormously Important Dancefloor Smash "Planet Rock").” Steve Huey, AMG.
