Sealed 2010 Special Edition Reissue That Restores 7 Minutes Edited Out Of The Original. While There Are A Million Stories About The Residents, One Of The More Intriguing Concerns The Recording Of Their Second LP, Not Available. Early In The Career Of The Band, They Were Introduced To The "Theory Of Obscurity" By The German Avant-Guardist, N. Senada. The Plan Called For The Creation Of Complete Projects That Were Literally Not Intended To Be Heard By Anyone Other Than The Creators. The Residents Realized The Truth In This Ideal: That Music Really Was Difficult To Record Without Considering The Audience. They Thought The Experience Gained By Completing Such A Project Would Prove Worthwhile Toward Achieving An Independent Attitude Toward Music. Not Available Was Completed In 1974 And Stored. Several Years Later, In 1978, The Residents Were Severely Over Schedule On Their Opus, Eskimo. The Record Company Pulled Not Available From The Masters Room And Released It. Surprisingly, The Residents Were Not Upset By This Fact Since It In No Way Violated Their Original Intent. more

The Third Reich 'N' Roll
Used - LP - RR1075
Rare 1976 First Label Original Housed In A Heavy-Duty Textured Cover With The Hand Colored Orange And Green Carrot. Does Not Include Inserts. Small Spot On Bottom Seam. Vinyl Appears Glossy. The Third Reich 'N' Roll is a concept album by the experimental music group, The Residents. The album was released in 1976 by Ralph Records, an independent record label founded by The Residents themselves. The album is a satirical commentary on pop culture, consumerism, and the rise of fascism. The title of the album is a play on words, combining the Nazi regime's propaganda machine, with rock 'n' roll, the popular music genre. The album features reworked versions of popular songs from the 1960s, such as "Land of 1000 Dances" and "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)", with the addition of Nazi-inspired lyrics and sound effects. The album has since become a cult classic and has influenced many musicians in the experimental and avant-garde music scene. more

New - LP - 426419
Sealed, 2004 Limited Edition Of 1,000 Pressings 180gm HQ Original Housed In A Gatefold Jacket. “Not That The Residents' Discography Is That Easy To Sort Through In The First Place, But Here's A Release Where Things Become Particularly Confusing. Back In 1971, They Recorded An Album (Actually, Before They Were Officially The Residents) And Sent It Anonymously And Unsolicited To Harve Halverstadt At Atlantic Records Based On His Association With Noted Musical Outsider Captain Beefheart. Of Course, The Tape Was Rejected And Returned To The Band, Care Of "Residents, 20 Sycamore St., San Francisco," Thus Giving The Band Their Famously Anonymous Moniker. In 2003, They Took The Original Tracks And Made A "Dance Mix" Of The Entire Album. Yes, Many Of The Sounds Are Very Strange, And Often Unplaceable. Yes, You Hear The Singing Resident, Sounding Much As He Has Throughout Their Career, Along With Bleating, Out-Of-Tune Saxophones And Deranged, Near-Yodeled Vocals. But They Somehow Take These Often-Abrasive Sounds And Construct Melodies And Song Forms That Almost Certainly Weren't There In The First Place. Or Were They? That's Part Of The Fun: You Hear Sound Elements Like String Ensembles And Bits Off Pop Records That Had To Have Been "Sampled" (Remember, This Is 1971) Along With Other Sounds/Noises That Are Impossible To Place, But One Never Knows Whether The Sound Was Tweaked And Treated In 1971, Or In 2003 (Snatches Of The Beatles And The I Love Lucy Theme Also Appear In The Murk). Then There Are Little Details Like The Fact That The Clapped-Out Rhythm That Accompanies "A Merican Fag" Sounds Suspiciously Like The Village People's "We Want You, We Want You" Rhythm From "In The Navy," Although "In The Navy" Didn't Appear Until 1979. Such Is The Genius And Mystery Of The Residents. Very Strange, Very Fun, And Quite Danceable, WB:RMX Is A Must-Hear For Fans.” Sean Westergaard, AMG. more
