Love, A Kind Of Hate Story
Used - LP - ST-673
1970 Green Label Stereo Original. Clean Cut Out Hole. Strong VG+/++ Copy. "A Middling Album, Produced By Shel Talmy, And A Little Heavier On The "Rock" In Folk-Rock Than Rose's 1960s Recordings Were. In Fact, The Backing Band Is Rumplestiltskin, A Talmy-Formed Supergroup Of Session Players Including Herbie Flowers On Bass, Alan Parker On Guitar, And Clem Cattini On Drums. Rose Sounds Like A Minor-League Joe Cocker On "Ode To An Old Ball," But Gets Into More Original, Moody Melodies On "I Know These Two People," With Its Harpsichord, And "Sympathy." "Dim Light A Burning" Has Some Of The Same Riff-Driven Urgency Found On One Of Rose's Most Famous Tracks, "Morning Dew." Still, In All, It's The Work Of A Secondary, Though Not Mediocre, Rock And Folk-Rock Singer-Songwriter. All Of The Songs Are Available On The RPM Reissue Tim Rose & Love, A Kind Of Hate Story, Which Also Includes All Of The Songs From His 1972 Tim Rose Album." AMG Review By Richie Unterberger.

Tim Rose
Used - LP - CS 9577
1968 2-Eyed Label original with inner sleeve. Connected to the early stages of the Mamas & Papas Tim Rose broke off to record this dynamic sounding record that will enthuse everyone from the Fred Neil to Nick Cave fans. Just with the session players helping out one can ascertain this might be a good record but after listening it will be confirmed. From Hugh McCracken and Jay Berliner on guitars to Bernard Purdie on drums and throw in Felix Pappalardi, Chuck Rainey for good measure and you can believe you will hear tight music. A must have for true music fans.
