Careless Love Was Produced By Larry Klein Who Hired Some Heavy Hitters For These Sessions; They Include Larry Goldings, Scott Amendola, David Piltch, And Dean Parks. Even On First Listen, Careless Love Appears More Focused Than Its Predecessor. Klein's Sense Of Restraint Seeks Subtler Adventures In Presenting Peyroux's Voice And Remarkable Phrasing. The Material Is A Curious Collection Of Modern Pop Songs, Country Tunes, Old Nuggets, And The Original, "Don't Wait Too Long," Co-written With Klein And Jesse Harris. "Careless Love" is the second album by singer-songwriter Madeleine Peyroux, released in 2004. The album is a mix of jazz, blues, and folk, and features covers of classic songs such as "Dance Me to the End of Love" by Leonard Cohen and "Don't Wait Too Long" by Duke Ellington. Peyroux had a rough childhood, spending much of her early years busking on the streets of Paris and New York City. She was discovered by a talent scout in the 1990s and signed to Atlantic Records, releasing her debut album "Dreamland" in 1996. The album received critical acclaim but failed to make a significant impact commercially. After a period of personal turmoil, Peyroux returned to the music scene in 2004 with "Careless Love". The album was produced by Larry Klein, who had worked with the likes of Joni Mitchell and Herbie Hancock, and featured a stellar group of musicians, including guitarists Dean Parks and Marc Ribot and drummer Jim Keltner.
