Durand Jones & The Indications
New - LP - DOC157
Sealed 2018 (vinyl color unknown). Durand Jones & The Indications’ self-titled debut album, released in 2016 on Colemine Records, marked the band's arrival as a new voice in contemporary soul. The project was born from sessions at Indiana University, where members Durand Jones, Aaron Frazer, and Blake Rhein met and bonded over their love of classic soul and R&B. Recorded on a modest budget primarily during after-hours in campus studios, the album captured the raw energy and authenticity of the group’s initial chemistry. The record features Jones’s gritty vocals and Frazer’s falsetto, blending seamlessly with vintage arrangements and instrumentation that draw inspiration from the deep soul of the late 1960s and early 1970s. ...

Quest For Fire
Colored Vinyl - Used - 075678625244
2023 2LP translucent Ruby Red pressing. NM- jacket with small ding on mouth edge. "Skrillex largely retreated from the public eye in order to deal with mental health issues during 2022, although he did receive notice for his contributions to releases by Beyoncé, 100 gecs, Kid Cudi, and others. He came back in a big way at the beginning of 2023, first with the release of the grime throwback "Rumble" (with Flowdan and Fred again..), and then with further singles featuring guests like PinkPantheress, Bobby Raps, and Bladee. Two Skrillex albums, Quest for Fire and Don't Get Too Close, appeared one day after the other in February, with the second arriving as he was headlining a last-minute sold-out show at Madison Square Garden. Several of the producer's 2021 and 2023 singles are spread throughout the track listings of both albums, with Quest for Fire focusing on dance tracks, while Don't Get Too Close concentrates on pop and emo-rap songs.
The tracks on Quest for Fire go for instant dancefloor gratification, but they're far more refined and nuanced than the brostep ragers that made Skrillex a household name in the early 2010s. "Rumble"'s tight, jittery beats constantly seem on the verge of combustion, but keep the listener on edge with anticipation, and tracks like the Joker-featuring "Tears" recall the spaciousness of early U.K. dubstep, yet could easily work in a festival trap set as well. Missy Elliott and Mr. Oizo both make welcome cameos on the surefire crowd mover "RATATA," Eli Keszler adds some intricate percussion to the flickering "A Street I Know," and "TOO BIZARRE (juked)" (with Swae Lee, Siiickbrain, and Posij) is a curious, hyperkinetic fusion of emo and Chicago juke. Other guests on the album include Porter Robinson, Bibi Bourelly, Pete Wentz, and Dylan Brady. Quest for Fire was generally hailed by fans and critics as Skrillex's creative rebirth, and it debuted at number 51 on the Billboard 200." All Music Guide – TiVo Staff ...

Unsilent Death
Colored Vinyl - Used - LORD 127
2018 gatefold repress/reissue pressed on Silver vinyl. Matte finished cover with light scuffing & corner ding."Tempting as it was to review Nails' 15-minute sophomore "album," Unsilent Death, with only 15 words (too late!), it's difficult to mince superlatives when attempting to describe a potentially historical watershed for sheer speed, fury, and intensity. Recorded over two days and mixed by Converge man Kurt Ballou, Unsilent Death is basically too heavy for punk, too fast for hardcore, too nimble for grindcore, and certainly too ADD-concise for death metal. So let's keep it short, like the songs themselves: 30-second blasts like "Conform," "Your God," and "Scapegoat" come as close as the band desires to actual grindcore; the equally brief "Traitor" is half speedster, half breakdown, and along with the His Hero Is Gone-inspired "Scum Will Rise," comes spiked with feedback squeals; "No Servant" pretty much D-beats the sh*t out of Discharge; "Suffering Soul," "I Will Not Follow," and the unusually long title track's dirt-caked riffs calls to mind Entombed; while "Depths," the three-minute epic closing the album, wraps everything described above into an only slightly less compact sonic time bomb. In short: Unsilent Death is absolutely lethal stuff -- listen if you dare!" All Music Guide – Eduardo Rivadavia ...

The album primarily draws from the band's first two albums, "The Electric Light Orchestra" and "ELO 2," offering a mix of symphonic rock tracks that highlight ELO's experimental beginnings before they honed the more concise, pop-oriented sound that brought them international fame in the late 1970s. ...

Preflyte
Used - LP - C 32183
1973 Original in shrink. The Byrds’ "Preflyte" album, released in 1969 by Together Records, is a compilation of early demos and rehearsal recordings from 1964, made before the band officially adopted the Byrds name and signed with Columbia Records. These tracks, laid down at World Pacific Studios in Los Angeles, capture the formative stages of the group—then known as The Jet Set or The Beefeaters—as they honed their blend of folk and rock influences. The original lineup featuring Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman, and Michael Clarke is present, experimenting with harmonies and arrangements that would soon evolve into their breakthrough 1965 sound. Although the recordings predate the band’s commercial success, songs like "You Showed Me" and early versions of "Mr. Tambourine Man" reveal the group’s nascent chemistry and songwriting prowess. "Preflyte" offers a revealing snapshot of the Byrds’ creative genesis, documenting their transition from folk revivalists to architects of folk-rock. The album’s release came at a time when interest in the band’s roots had grown, offering fans and historians a chance to hear the embryonic stages of songs that would later become iconic. It also demonstrates the band’s receptivity to new influences, particularly the impact of the Beatles and electric instrumentation on their sound. ...
