Used - LP - B0028731-01
2018 Black vinyl. VG++ copy, gentle shelf scuffing to jacket. "Ye" is the artist's eighth studio album. Clocking in at just over 23 minutes, the seven-track project was recorded in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where Kanye hosted a listening party in the mountainous region. The album's cover art features the phrase "I hate being Bi-Polar it's awesome," handwritten by West. This reflects the album's exploration of mental health, a theme Kanye candidly addresses throughout the record. Tracks such as "Yikes" and "I Thought About Killing You" delve into his struggles with bipolar disorder and the societal perceptions surrounding it. Musically, "Ye" spans a variety of genres, including hip-hop, soul, and psychedelic rock, demonstrating Kanye's eclectic style and production prowess. Collaborations on the album feature vocals from artists like Kid Cudi, Ty Dolla $ign, and Jeremih, adding depth and diversity to the sonic landscape. "Ghost Town" stands out as a fan favorite, celebrated for its emotive lyrics and haunting melody. Despite its brevity, "Ye" offers a raw and intimate glimpse into Kanye West's personal life, making it a significant entry in his discography for listeners seeking both innovation and introspection. ... more

"Abbey Road" is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band The Beatles, released on 26 September 1969 by Apple Records. The album was primarily recorded at EMI Studios (later known as Abbey Road Studios) in London, and it represents a significant evolution in The Beatles' music, incorporating elements of blues, rock, and progressive pop. Notable tracks include "Come Together," "Something," "Here Comes the Sun," and the medley that spans much of the album's second side. The cover, featuring the iconic image of the band members walking across a zebra crossing outside the studio, has become one of the most famous and imitated album covers in music history. "Abbey Road" was both a critical and commercial success, reaching number one in the UK and US charts. It was the last album recorded by the band, although "Let It Be" would be released later. The album showcases the individual talents of the band members while also highlighting their collaborative synergy. George Harrison's contributions, particularly "Something" and "Here Comes the Sun," were particularly lauded, showcasing his growth as a songwriter. The 1975
Colored Vinyl - Used - 3740515
2014 2LP original Gatefold on Clear vinyl. "The 2013 Self-titled Debut Album From The 1975 Is A Superb Album That Finds The Manchester Outfit Poised On The Brink Of Stardom. When Rock Guitars Meet Dancefloor Synths, '80s Influences Become Hard To Deny, But While The 1975 Definitely Have A Retro Vibe (Hence The Name), The Alchemy Of How They Bring Those Influences To Bear Is Totally Contemporary. While Many Of The Tracks Here Bring To Mind Such Icons As Peter Gabriel, Inxs, And U2, They Also Fit Nicely Next To Artists Of The Same Moment, Like Passion Pit, Temper Trap, And M83. It Helps That Lead Singer/songwriter Matthew Healy Has A Compelling Tenor Croon That Can Soar Like Bono One Minute And Coo Like Lionel Richie The Next. There Is Also A Sophistication To The Band's Songs, And An Instinct To Blur Genre Lines That Makes It Hard To Box Them Into One, Easy To Define Sound. In That Sense, The Band Also Recalls The Way Fall Out Boy Combined The Rhythmic Phrasing And Melodies Of Contemporary R&b With Their Own Brand Of Driving, Guitar-based Emo-rock. Much Has Been Made Of The 1975's Avowed Love Of '80s John Hughes Movies, And Many Of The Cuts Here, Like The Thrilling, Lovesick "Settle Down" And The Sparkling "Girls," Play With Such Great Narrative Momentum That They Sound Like Songs Culled From A Hughes Soundtrack. Meanwhile, Cuts Like "The City," "Chocolate," And "Sex" Drive And Climb Like The Best Anthemic '80s Stadium Rock, Roiling A Host Of Influences Into A Single Distinct Sound That, The Moment It Hits Your Ears, Becomes Timeless." Wet Leg
Used - LP - WIGLP496
2022 Original, Standard Black Vinyl Housed In A Matt Finished Jacket. NM- Copy. Two Pressing Rings. Recorded At Mr Dans, London, Jon's Studio, London And Hester & Joshua's Flat, Isle Of Wight. "In The Middle Of 2021, Wet Leg's Rhian Teasdale And Hester Chambers Came Seemingly Out Of Nowhere And Dominated Popular Culture, Or At Least A Part Of It, With Their Single "Chaise Longue." Its Combination Of In-jokes, Mean Girls Quotes, Fancy Furniture, And Warm Beer -- All Served Up With Deadpan Irony, Nagging Guitars, And Shout-along Choruses -- Sounded Like Instant Summer. Somehow, The Music Wet Leg Wanted To Make Also Happened To Be What Everyone Else Wanted To Hear; "Chaise Longue" Racked Up Millions Of Streams And Reached Number 27 On The Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart, No Small Feat For A Previously Unknown Act. It's Rare That A Band Is So Fully Formed At The Start Of Their Career, But On Their Self-Titled Debut Album, Wet Leg Deliver More Of Those Immediately Memorable Hooks And Relatable, Witty Retorts. Unlike Many Of Their Post-Punk-Influenced Contemporaries, Teasdale And Chambers Laugh At The World's Absurdity (And Their Own) Instead Of Despairing At It. That Sense Of Humor Is A Powerful Weapon In Their Hands, And They're Most Confident On Wet Leg When They're Taking Aim: On "Oh No," They Skewer Twentysomething Existential Dread And Hipsters In Increasingly Chaotic, Social Media-Sized Bites With Such Accuracy That It Borders On Sketch Comedy. When They Cut An Ex Down To Size Over Spiky Guitars And Handclaps On "Wet Dream," The Way Teasdale Sneers "What Makes You Think You're Good Enough To Think About Me When You're Touching Yourself?" Echoes The Way Elastica And Sleeper Put A Sardonic, Distinctly Female Stamp On Brit-Pop's Oh-So-Laddish Style. Decades Later, It's Still Liberating To Hear Chambers And Teasdale Tear Down Someone Who Doesn't "Motivate" Them With A Well-Placed "Why Don't You Just Suck My Dick?" On "Ur Mum." Though The Band Completed Wet Leg Before The World Even Heard "Chaise Lounge," They Knew There Had To Be More To Their Music Than Whip-Smart Singles. As A Whole, It's Remarkably Well-rounded, Spanning Slight Tweaks To Their Sound As Well As Drastic Leaps. Teasdale And Chambers Strip Away Their Cool On Songs As Emotionally Varied As "Being In Love," Which Captures The Giddy Gut Punch Of Romance With A Rush Of Guitars, Synths, And Knowingly Cooed Vocals, And "Loving You," Which Uses Its Frothy Melody And Instrumentation To Couch The Sting Of Its Heartbroken Lyrics. When Teasdale Sings Instead Of Using Her Usual Sprechesung Delivery, As On "Convincing," It Adds Another Level Of Cheek To Their Music, One That They Take To Drolly Rocking Heights On Yet Another Standout, "Angelica." While Chambers And Teasdale Are Still Discovering What They Can Do, They're Having A Lot Of Fun Finding Out, And Wet Leg More Than Delivers On The Promise Of Their Viral Beginnings."
